Experimenting
with different white bases..
In this
lesson we were experimenting with different products to create white base on
the face. The purpose of this is to see if we could create an Elizabethan
foundation look using the products in our kits. We used our Charles Fox Supra
and Aqua colour and also experimented with the Illamasqua white base
foundation.
Supra
colour –
The supra
colour was the one we first experimented with on half of the face. This was
really easy to use because it blends very well and is easy to use from the back
of your hand. It has a really nice cream texture to it, which makes it easy to
blend out. The coverage of this was the only down fall to it because it was
quite thin once blended out but you could build up the product which would give
you a better coverage.
Aqua colour-
On the
other half of the face we experimented with the Aqua colour, which needs to be
mixed with water to be able to use. This was quite difficult to use, as it
doesn’t mix well with the water, which makes it a bit tricky to do on the back
of your hand or on a pallet. Once we had put this on the skin it looked
extremely streaky so we tried to blend it out but it didn’t really help still
looked quite streaky. I wasn’t too keen on using this as a base maybe only for
design work.

Illamasqua
white base-
Using the
illamasqua white base was really easy to use off the back of my hand, it has a
very tacky texture I think, which makes it easy to use because it doesn’t just
move round the face. Once this was blended it created a nice smooth base, the
only down fall about this one is that its not that thick. Tried adding a bit
more to build up coverage but didn’t really seem to make much of a difference.
Maybe this one would be best using on top of another product to give the smooth
finish but just not add much colour to it.
