My first attempt at partners design

First Practise of Partners Design

In class today we had our first practise at each others makeup looks, this involved my partner Leah showing me her designs and makeup charts and explaining to me how she would like her makeup design to be done.
I started thinking about what products would work best with her skin and also did a colour match on her skin to make sure the foundation I was using matched. I decided to go with the smash box foundation I have in my kit because I felt like she had some dry patches on her face and the Charles fox foundations don’t go on very well if you have dry skin.  The only thing was the foundation I had in my kit was slightly too dark for her skin so I added some on the illamasqua white base to the foundation to match her skin colour. I used the Illamasqua primer all over the skin to make sure the foundation and the products we will be layering up on her face stay in place. I then used the foundation all over her face creating the perfect base for her design.
In her design she had a white heart shape which goes around the eyebrows and stops just above the lip. She used Illamasqua white base to create this heart shape in her design so I used the same products to create this look, I decided to make the rough shape by using a small angled brush just so I could mark out the heart shape, I then filled it in using a stippling effect to create a very airbrushed look, I then blended to edges to create a soften the outline.
After the heart shape was completed and then powdered to set it with the Illamasqua loose powder, I then moved onto the eyebrows which were white in her design I decided to do this with the supra colour from Charles Fox because its quite thick and creates a strong defined look. I then moved onto contouring which I used on the forehead because she wanted the top of the heart to be quite defined so in her design she contoured the whole of the forehead which I done using the highlight and contour palette from Illamasqua. I then went on to doing the eyes which I used the gold from the Supra colour and the gold from the Illamasqua pallet to shade in the crease and blend up towards the eyebrow, used a black mascara on the eye lashes which I built up to create a full look on the eyelashes.
On the lips I used the deep red which is from the Supra colour pallet all over the lips then got Leah to squish her lips together and then I used the Supra colour in gold across the lips to create lines on the lips.

Over all the practise went really well I executed the look quite easily and didn’t get stuck at any point which has boosted my confidence for the assessment. Next time I practise this look I think I’m going to use a slightly thicker but smaller brush to create the heart shape and maybe use more product to make it whiter in the middle so it stands out more.
