Peer Review

Working with a peer and exchanging ideas and designs worked really well for my partner and me because we both put in a lot of time and effort into both designs. We also were good at arranging times to meet outside of uni time to discuses ideas we had. We also both took into account what the other person wasn’t as strong with and worked towards each other’s abilities as well as helping each other achieve the desired look. In the exam’s we both worked really well and quite quickly as this came quite easily because of all the practicing my partner and me did. Over all working with a peer and sharing designs was really enjoyable and also learnt a lot of skills through working this way. For example making sure everything in your work is clear because at the start even though I knew my idea my partner couldn’t see from my point of view till I showed her mood boards and some of my inspirations.

Evaluation

The assignment went really well and enjoyed every second of it. I managed to get my partners design done on time and to the best I could which I was extremely happy with. I practised many times on my partner and doing it no myself to get the best results in the end and also timing my self so I knew how much time I could spend on each part.

In the exam I tried to make sure I kept reflecting on what I was doing taking a step back and making sure I had done everything right and all look right. I am extremely happy with the final outcome which you can see below.

My partner also did such a great job creating my design got it spot on and was extremely happy with the execution of my design.

I really enjoyed this whole unit because I have learnt extremely important skills which I will be using in the future. For example the type of skill you learn when taking on someone else design idea and having the responsibility to listen and do exactly what they want and interpret their ideas. Communication was extremely important with this unit and I think me and my partner worked really well together. I think the part I found most challenging was the keeping all the different blogs up to date because I had never used blogger before took a while to get used to writing all your ideas down.

Next time I will try and be more organised and try write about everything we done that day in a blog post. Over all I really enjoyed this whole unit and cant wait to see what the next step on this course is.

In this makeup look we were asked to create a classic Elizabethan look. To do this look i started out with the health and safety meseaures which are on another blog. 
I then went onto starting the base i decided to go with the Illamasqua white base for this look as i think its the easiest to blend compared to teh supra colour white. I used a fluffy blending brush to put this all over the face and down the neck and onto the ears. I had to do a few layers of this as its not a thick as the supra colour pallet. I then powdered the face using the Illamasqua powder to set the base.
After this i moved onto the eye lashes and eye brows, i used the white supra colour for this one as its thick and easy to apply to eyebrows and lashes. I done this by using a disposable mascara wand and worked it into the eyeborws and lashes. Elizabethans put this colour right on the apples of their cheeks to make it stand out the most. 
I then moved onto doing the lips bright red but forgot to take a picture of that before i started experimenting with the orangy colour and the creases in the lips.

Evening Styled Look Using Monochromatic Colours

In class today we were asked to create a monochromatic look which is the same colour but using different shades to create a look.

I started of with the health and safety measured before I started anything on my client, this is also on another blog post. I then started the perfect base using the colour Ivory out of the Charles Fox pallet as my client has quite fair skin. Once I had done the base using the foundations and the Illamasqua powder I then moved onto the eyes. I used the mac pallet to create this look, I started using a light slightly silvery colour in the inner corner of the eye and then faded it out to a darker colour in the crease because my client had big eyes this is the most flatting use of colour by bringing the darker colour slightly onto the eye lid and then into the crease.I then blending this all together to create a beautiful smokey eye.

For this look I used an analogous colour scheme  I decided to use pinks, purples and blues for this look. 
We were also set the challenge of using only 3 brushes to create this look.

Firstly started with all the health and safely which I have listened on another blog. Then went on to doing the perfect base which I have done in a previous blog using Charles fox foundation and illamasqua powder. 
I then went on to doing the eyes, I started using a very bright and vibrant pink from the Glitter

Ball pallet and pressed that onto the inner corner of the eye, then moved onto the second colour which was the purple and then put this on the middle of the eye lid, and last put the vibrant blue on the outer section of the eye. 
After I had placed all the colours on the eyes I then got my blending bursh and blended all the colours together giving a gradient effect. I then went onto taking the purple that I used under the cheek bone as a contour. 
I also used the glitter ball pallet for the lips as well I used this by scooping out some vaseline onto the back of my hand and then scooping out some of the purple from the same pallet and mixing it together to create a paste. I then put this all over the lips and then did the same with the pink and then put that just in the centre of the lips to create a highlight.

Step by step

After the perfect base has been completed following the same equipment and routine from my perfect base blog.
I then worked out what type of eyes my client had, this was wide set eyes this means the most flattering look for her face would be dark on lids and then also in the outer corner.
I used a lighter colour from the mac pallet on the inner corner of the eye to give a highlight effect. I then used this all over the lid of the eyes. Next I used the darker shade in the crease and then blended this outwards to create a gradient effect. 
I then used my ted baker mascara with a disposable wand. I got my model to look straight forward and then used the wand to put the mascara onto the top of the top lashes and then got her to look slightly down and then brushed the mascara through the lashes. I then got my model to look up to make it easier to put on the bottom lashes. I also added a matt pale colour on the brow bone to give it a bit of a highlight.

To do the lips I used a small flat brush, using the palest colour from the pallet and then mixed this with some lip balm as my model had dry lips. I found this didn't go on very well because my clint had very dry lips.
Next time I might use the lip balm before I start the makeup look to give it time to soak in.

The Perfect Contour

In this class we got taught the proper way to contour the face.

To start off with i did the perfect base using the products in my last blog, using the same routine. 
To contour the face i used the Charles Fox conclear pallet using D11. To find the perfect place to put the contour is just under the cheekbone where it gives off a slight look of a shadow. To find this use the outer side of your hand to press aganist the face to find where the cheekbone ends, this is where you need to put the contour. I used a small flat brush to dab under the cheek bones to make sure i got it in the right place. I then blended this with the blending brush to create an airbrushed look. 
I then used the Illamasqua highlighter on the tops of the cheek bones using the blending brush to just dab on the tops of the cheek bone.
