Candy Skull
In class today we practiced using the white base to create a Halloween
makeup look. The candy skull comes from the Mexican day of the dead where they
gather family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members,
which have passed away. It is said that it helps support their spiritual
journey.
The makeup/ equipment I used to create this look was the illamasqua
white base foundation, supra colour pallet black and then the mac pallet to
create the colour round the eyes and the shading where the cheek bone has been
drawn.
I practiced this look the night before on myself so I had some sort of
idea how it would look after. I used the
same makeup to do the one on my own face. The reason I wanted to practice this
is because it is quite out of my comfort zone because I have never experimented
doing these kinds of looks before. This was my first attempt of this look
below.
Below is the finished Candy Skull i done on my model.
I really enjoyed doing this type of makeup look because i have never done anything like this before i thought i was going to be really rubbish at it but i found it went really well and really enjoyed it.
